Selvamani holds a Masters in Geography and specialises in GIS and remote sensing analysis. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu awarded him a Gold Medal for his accomplishments during his Bachelor’s degree. He also received the Postgraduate National Scholarship for Rank Holders from the Government of India and the Endowment Prize for the Best Student from the Geography Association. He was recognised as an ‘active rotaractor’ by a District Rotary Governor.

Selvamani has completed offline courses at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing-Indian Space Research Organisation, Uttarakhand and Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. He was an intern with the Regional Meteorological Centre, India Meteorological Department, Chennai.

Selvamani’s interests include research, volunteering, and exploring different geographies.
