WELL Labs is looking for a Junior Communications Associate who can contribute to editorial work for articles and social media content, update and maintain the website, assist in video production, and support event organisation. Position Overview

We are looking for a Junior Communications Associate who can contribute to editorial work for articles and social media content, update and maintain the website, assist in video production, and support event organisation. The opportunity is ideal for those interested in science communication, development communication, environmental research, and the innovation sector.

Job Location: Bengaluru (hybrid)

Period of Engagement: Full-time

Responsibilities

  1. Copywriting for social media, simple videos, blogs, and other institutional material.
  2. Interviewing researchers to write explainer blogs and briefs for social media.
  3. Fact checking, proofreading, and formatting written outputs.
  4. Uploading blogs, newsletters, media publications, and other collateral to the website.
  5. Assisting with video and photo shoots at the office, during events and in the field.
  6. Assisting in producing podcasts, short videos, and other media outputs.
  7. Monitoring media reports on relevant topics to help create timely outputs.
  8. Creating and maintaining databases of partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience and Eligibility

    1. An academic background in communications or journalism.
    2. Have interest and experience in internal and external communications, including writing, editing, videography, and event management.
    3. Have 0-2 years of experience in communications, content creation, journalism, or related fields.
    4. Have experience working with knowledge-based organisations such as research institutes, think tanks, philanthropies, funders, technical consultancies, or NGOs.
    5. Have domain knowledge of or exposure to subjects like environment, climate change, and water sustainability.
    6. Strong English language and editorial skills.
    7. Experience of pitching pieces to the media, identifying topical stories, and liaising with journalists would be a bonus.
