Job Location: Bengaluru (Hybrid)

About the Role: We are looking for a Junior Communications Associate to amplify our work across digital platforms. In this role, you will create engaging editorial content for social media, support video production, and assist with online campaigns and event promotion, helping drive audience engagement and visibility. The opportunity is ideal for those interested in science communication, development communication, environmental research, and the innovation sector.

Responsibilities

1. Content creation: Write and design engaging copies for social media and other communication channels.

2. Campaign support: Plan, schedule, and monitor social media campaigns to boost reach and engagement.

3. Community engagement: Respond to audience queries, moderate comments, and foster online community interaction.

4. Track and analyse metrics: Record and analyse social media metrics to gain insights and modify strategies.

5. Research interviews: Interview researchers to write explainer briefs for social media.

6. Brand consistency: Ensure all content aligns with the organisation’s voice, style, and messaging.

7. Active collaboration: Work with the Communications and Development team and other programmes at WELL Labs to produce outputs.

   Added advantage for candidates who can work on:

8. Video production: Assist in creating and editing short-form videos for social media and institutional use.

9. AV shoots: Assist with video, photo and podcast shoots at the office, during events and in the field (must be willing to travel occasionally).

Skills and Experience

1. An academic background in communications, digital marketing or journalism.
2. Interest and experience in internal and external communications, including social media management, writing, editing, and videography. Please include a portfolio of your social media work. 
3. 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, content creation, or related fields.
4. Strong English language and editorial skills.
   

Optional Skills

1. Domain knowledge of or exposure to subjects like environment, climate change, and water sustainability.
2. Experience working with knowledge-based organisations such as research institutes, think tanks, philanthropies, funders, technical consultancies, or NGOs.
