Position Overview

WELL Labs is seeking a Junior Engineer to drive end-to-end site engineering operations including design support, data collection, quality & safety compliance, resource coordination, and project documentation at project locations in Devadurga, Raichur. The Junior Engineer will work on projects focuses on improving water access and irrigation efficiency through sustainable rural water infrastructure interventions.

Major activities of the project include converting traditional earthen Field Irrigation Channels (FICs) into pipeline-based systems with controlled outlets for equitable and regulated water distribution at farm plots, developing lift irrigation systems to ensure irrigation for double cropping in dryland regions, and rejuvenating village tanks to support protective irrigation and groundwater recharge.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in preparing engineering designs, drawings, and project layouts.
2. Coordinate and monitor day-to-day field execution activities.
3. Supervise labour teams and ensure smooth progress of site work.
4. Track project progress and provide regular site updates and reports.
5. Conduct site surveys, measurements, inspections, and field data collection.
6. Maintain project documentation, reports, measurement sheets, and execution records.
7. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, clients, and local stakeholders for project activities.
8. Ensure work execution is carried out as per approved drawings, standards, and timelines.
9. Assist in resolving field-level technical and operational issues during execution.
10. Monitor material usage, manpower deployment, and site resource management.
11. Support quality checks and ensure safety compliance at project sites.
12. Travel to project locations as required for site supervision and coordination.

Preferred Skills

1. Should have basic knowledge of engineering drawings and site execution activities.
2. Should possess good communication and coordination skills.
3. Applicant should be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and basic reporting tools.
4. Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar engineering software will be an added advantage.
5. Should be capable of managing multiple activities and coordinating with field teams effectively.
6. Candidate must be able to speak and communicate effectively in Kannada, as the role involves regular interaction with local labour teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
7. Candidate should be willing to work in field conditions and travel frequently to project sites.

Qualifications

1. Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification is required.

2. Freshers or candidates with 0–2 years of experience can apply for this position.
