Urban Water

Deepthi is a Research Associate in the Urban Water programme at WELL Labs. She is investigating how alternative solutions can support urban environmental management, with a focus on improving the quality of resource recovery in decentralised water reuse and sanitation systems.

She pursued a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK). After gaining work experience as an environmental consultant at AECOM India, she returned to research at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE). With a focus on water quality management, she has worked on lakes in and around Bengaluru, and on safe water reuse in decentralised STPs.

To further her understanding of environmental planning and law, she received training at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) and the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) respectively.
