We are looking for a highly motivated person to join the Green Rural Economy team for 6 months to support the facilitation of initiatives in Raichur.
Position Overview
The Green Rural Economy (GRE) is looking for a highly motivated Fellow to join its team for a duration of 6 months to support the facilitation of GRE initiatives in Raichur. The Fellow will work closely with the Green Rural Economy initiative and Rural Futures team at WELL Labs. The Fellow will engage with GRE’s consortium partners, like Socratus Foundation and Udhyam Foundation, to leverage their expertise in building entry pathways into the community and developing the Raichur Sandbox (based on learnings from the Odisha Sandbox)
The overall objective will be to facilitate the sourcing and servicing of requests (knowledge, training, vendor connections, etc.) from various community collectives and stakeholders within the sandbox and its collaborating organisations.

Responsibilities

Mapping partners and collectives in Raichur

Conduct a preliminary mapping exercise of the civil society organisations, social enterprises and relevant partner organisations in Raichur

Stakeholder engagement

The Raichur Sandbox provides a unique opportunity to engage with diverse user archetypes such as FPOs, SHGs, climate advocates, non-profit professionals, government stakeholders and more.

Conduct interviews/ conversations with potential users to strengthen the user personas for the GRE platform.

The Fellow, with support from Socratus Foundation and WELL Labs, will facilitate user-testing conversations with potential users of the collaborating organisations to understand how they access and engage with digital assets, tools and platforms.

Request Capturing:
-
Collaborate with partner organisations and networks to capture user requests for support, resources, and expertise in green rural economy initiatives.

Regular cadence with Rural futures team, WELL Labs to onboard requests and support them with plugging in solutions from GRE.

Request-Response Matching:
-
Matching requests with solutions – this entails discovering and vetting solution providers and identifying and reporting on bottlenecks that limit the transferability of their solutions to this new landscape.

Implement systems to track, analyse, and report on the matches between incoming requests and available responses.

Demand-based Clinics/Field Schools:

Curate demand based Q&A sessions called Clinics between solution seekers and solution providers

Document/digitise these clinics as know-how that can be disseminated in the sector

Collaborate with consortium partners to curate offline field schools, training and workshops that can aid the demand discovery process

Solution Onboarding:

Facilitate the vetting and onboarding process for solutions onto the GRE platform, ensuring alignment with the needs of green rural economy initiatives.

Facilitate/workshop the creation of playbooks with solution providers. A Solution consists of a brief knowledge document (playbook) that is linked with vetted experts, trainers or resource persons.

Directory Building:

Develop and maintain directories of experts, trainers, and service providers relevant to green rural economy initiatives within the region and adjacent regions.

Throughout the Fellowship:
- Maintain regular communication and coordination with GRE, Rural Futures teams at WELL Labs and consortium partners to ensure smooth knowledge transfer and data sharing.
- Provide regular updates to the central program management team, sharing progress, insights, and challenges faced.
- Create and maintain documentation on processes, methodologies, and insights gathered during the fellowship for future reference and scalability.
Qualifications, Experience and Eligibility
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as development studies, social sciences, information management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in knowledge management, data curation, or content organisation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for data management and organisation.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- 3+ work experience in the development sector, especially in rural and agricultural contexts, is a plus.
- Proficiency in Kannada language is preferred.
