Intern – Short-form Video

We are seeking a video intern who will collaborate with researchers to identify “hook-worthy” insights and translate complex agricultural concepts into jargon-free storytelling.

Position Overview

WELL Labs’ Communications and Development team is looking for a creative and driven intern to help amplify our research insights and evidence-based practices through video content creation. This role is at the intersection of science communication, environmental research, and social innovation. If you are passionate about storytelling for social impact, this is the place for you.

Job Location: Bengaluru, with occasional travel to project sites in Raichur and Chintamani.

Type of Engagement: Full-time internship

Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities

  1. Produce informative and engaging short-form vertical videos (Reels, Shorts).
  2. Partner with field staff to plan, script, shoot, and edit high-quality video content.
  3. Support the development of creative concepts for social media that align with organisational messaging.
  4. Collaborate with researchers to identify “hook-worthy” insights and translate complex agricultural concepts into jargon-free storytelling.
  5. Manage basic documentation and media file organisation.
  6. Stay updated with evolving trends on platforms like Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.
  7. Provide Kannada language support (scripts, subtitles, and voiceovers) as needed.

    Note: This list is tentative. The scope of work may change based on the candidate’s skills and interests.

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  1. Pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Media, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  2. A strong understanding of short-form video trends and audience engagement.
  3. Ability to ideate and write high-impact scripts for educational and informative content.
  4. Hands-on experience with video editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, Riverside, Edits by Instagram, etc.).
  5. Basic graphic design skills (Canva) and experience with closed captioning.
  6. Basic shooting skills using smartphones or professional cameras.
  7. Proficiency in Kannada (reading, writing, and speaking) is highly preferred.
  8. Excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively in field environments.
