Urban Water
Deepthi is a Senior Research Associate in the Urban Water Programme at WELL Labs. She investigates how emerging technological solutions can enhance urban environmental management, with a focus on improving the quality of resource recovery in decentralised water reuse and sanitation systems.
She pursued a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK). After gaining industry experience as an environmental consultant at AECOM India, she returned to research at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE). Specialising in water quality management, she has worked on lakes in and around Bengaluru, and on safe water reuse in decentralised STPs.
To deepen her understanding of environmental planning and management, she also completed training as an Urban Fellow at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS).
