The article, titled ‘Groundwater Depletion in a Drying World’ by Cahal McQuillan, emphasises continental drying, and the need for better monitoring, management, and supply alternatives to address groundwater depletion.
“The local water treatment systems are not capable of handling this [heavy metal contamination] and, therefore, you’re seeing a lot of cancer associated with it.”
