Lakshmikantha NR is a Research Manager with the Technical Consulting team at WELL Labs. His work includes hydrological modelling and analysis.

Lakshmikantha interests are to understand hydrologic and socio-economic impacts of soil and water conservation interventions, sustainable water management policy development, and the effects of climate change on socio-hydrologic systems. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Conservation Science and Sustainability Studies at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE). With a Master’s in Technology and Development from IIT Bombay and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Malnad College of Engineering (VTU), Hassan, he has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning him the IIT Bombay Institute Silver Medal. He was part of the academic team that contributed to the water chapter of the IPCC Working Group II Report (2021-22).

Beyond academia, Lakshmikantha brings managerial experience from his role as a Manager at Kamadhenu Co-Operative Vidhyashrama. Fluent in Kannada and English, he combines his technical skills in watershed analysis, GIS and programming with a passion for cinematography, film editing and documentary filmmaking.
