Launch of WELL Labs
Envisioning Sustainable Futures
26 July 2023, 3:30 PM
India International Centre, New Delhi
Launch of WELL Labs
WELL Labs is the latest centre in the Krea University-Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) ecosystem. We are a research and innovation lab that works closely with governments, businesses, multilateral institutions and civil society groups to enable a high quality of human life while simultaneously nurturing the environment.
We invite you to the centre’s launch at the India International Centre in New Delhi on July 26. The event comprises a panel discussion on envisioning sustainable futures. Dr Ashok Gulati, leading agricultural economist and Distinguished Professor at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER); Dr Shambu Prasad, Professor, Strategic Management & Social Sciences, Institute of Rural Management Anand; and Mr Amandeep Panwar, CEO, BharatRohan, will discuss how we can anticipate future environmental challenges and chart roadmaps to address them. Mr Kapil Viswanathan, President of IFMR, will formally launch the centre at the event.
Why This Event?
Today, our world faces grave threats, such as climate change, resource depletion, pollution, and water and food insecurity. Solutions to these complex and evolving environmental challenges cannot be based in the present because they run the risk of becoming obsolete by the time they are designed. We must design for the future we imagine.
The trends and signals of what the future could be like already exist around us. What if we could hone the ability to identify these outliers of today that will become the solutions of tomorrow. How do we get better at anticipating the future? How do we work together to make this future a reality? What are the gaps that need to be filled in this grand challenge?
