WELL Labs seeks skilled and motivated research personnel to join the Sustainable Transition Explorations in Water and Agriculture for Resilient Dryland Systems (STEWARDS) project. The project is driven by research for impact philosophy, engaging with local communities and government stakeholders to develop and implement solutions for sustainable water management in rural and
urban districts in Karnataka.

The work offers opportunities to bridge the science- policy space, and to collaborate with international researchers working on climate change adaptation with a focus on water use.

Responsibilities

    1. Data collection: Survey environmental metrics (mainly water and soil related) in the study area, observe focus group discussions, facilitate environmental data recording (including videos), using appropriate and ethical sampling strategies and checks.
    2. Data management and analysis: Validate data for accuracy and completeness, transcribe across data formats, and analyse data to produce insights
    3. Report writing: Contribute to reports and academic outputs using data insights 

     

    Qualifications and Skills

    Skills

    1. Masters in natural sciences such as agricultural, environmental and water management, climate science, engineering, hydrogeology
    2. Knowledge of hydrological processes and monitoring techniques
    3. Familiarity with the study area (Chikkaballapur and Raichur districts) is desirable
    4. Experience working with people in rural areas is desirable
    5. Working knowledge of remote sensing-geographic information systems is desirable
    6. Knowledge of Kannada is a must
