Studies have already linked the warming planet to intense rainfall with less frequency, increased evaporation, and faster depletion of groundwater table due to overuse.
An Urban Water Balance report released earlier this year by WELL Labs, which focuses on establishing water resilience ecosystems, pegs current total freshwater demand in Bengaluru at 2,632 MLD (million litres per day).
