Dr Shambu Prasad, Professor, Strategic Management and Social Sciences, Institute of Rural Management Anand; Dr Alok Sikka, India Representative of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI); and Mr Amandeep Panwar, CEO, BharatRohan, discussed how we can anticipate future environmental challenges in rural India and deliver a future that is economically vibrant and ecologically secure.

A key part of the event was the launch of the report we submitted to IWMI on the impact of solar irrigation in India. Researched and written by WELL Labs Executive Director, Dr Veena Srinivasan and Managing Partner of Products and Platforms, Ms Anjali Neelakantan, the report employs an agent-based modelling approach to ascertain how farmers in six different districts in India are likely to respond to solar irrigation. The report was released by Dr Sikka.
